Fields of Cooperation

18 international bilateral agreements concluded between Georgia and the Hellenic Republic regulates the relations between two countries in the spheres such as defence, economy, tourism, health, science, education and culture. 

Georgia and Greece have close cooperation on bilateral level as well as within International Organizations and other multilateral formats.

There is positive dynamic of cooperation between the legislative bodies of Georgia and the Hellenic Republic.

Two countries cooperate dynamically in the field of education. The scholarships are granted to Georgian students by the Government of the Hellenic Republic every year.

Cooperation in the field of culture is very active as well. Joint cultural events, with the engagement of the Georgian Diaspora Organizastions, are held on regular basis. The project "Voyage of Argonauts" was established in 2008. The exact replica of the ship of the Argonauts sailed from Volos to Batumi in 2009.

Conclusion of bilateral agreements in the fields of defence, fight against Criminal and economic cooperation between Georgia and Hellenic Republic are under discussion.

It is worth mentioning that Georgian Diaspora on the territory of the Hellenic Republic is the 3rd largest Georgian Diaspora around the world.
