The Georgian Delegation met with the US Assistant of the Secretary of Energy for International Affairs
The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Ms. Inga Pkhaladze met with the Assistant of the Secretary of Energy for International Affairs of US, Mr. Tommy Joyce. The meeting was held in the framework of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC) 6th Conference.
During the meeting parties discussed the future cooperation between Georgia and the US in the terms of ensuring regional and global energy security.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the current developments in Georgia's energy sector as well as the major energy infrastructure projects and other relates issues.
The parties highlighted the energy security issues in the terms of current situation of the region and in this regard, Georgia's role was pointed out as a reliable partner in regional energy projects as well as ensuring the availability of energy resources in the South Caucasus. The development of the Green Energy Corridor and Georgia's leading position in it, was another topic of the discussion.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation - Ms. Ekaterine Sisauri, the Member of the Board of Directors of the Georgian State Electrosystem - Mr. Zviad Gachechiladze, the Head of the Department of Energy Policy and Investment Projects of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia - Mr. Alexandre Sokhadze, the Deputy Head of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Policy and Sustainable Development - Mr. Omar Tsereteli and the Ambassador of Georgia to the Hellenic Republic H.E. Levan Beridze.
