On May 19, the Ambassador of Georgia to the Hellenic Republic, H.E. Levan Beridze, met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Anastasios Chadzivasileiou.
The parties discussed the possibilities of deepening bilateral trade and economic relations between Georgia and Greece. In this regard, scheduling the joint economic committee meeting in Georgia in the near future was agreed upon, as well as intensifying bilateral business meetings and enhancing collaboration between the private sectors of the two countries.
During the meeting the importance of sharing best practices in different fields, such as renewable energy, innovations and technology, AI were discussed.
The Deputy Minister confirmed Greece’s continuous support to Georgia for its European aspirations and emphasized that historically and culturally Georgia has always been the part of Europe. The Deputy Minister expressed hope that the country will duly address all the challenges faced towards its European integration.
Ambassador Beridze, on his behalf, noted that European integration remains the key priority for Georgia and the government is working on the implementation of the existing recommendations for the EU integration. The Ambassador also touched upon Georgia’s strategic role as a transit corridor, as well as in the sphere of energy security and stability of the Black Sea region.
