The Ambassador of Georgia to the Hellenic Republic H.E. Levan Beridze attended the event dedicated to the World Peace Day

On September 20, a truly remarkable event dedicated to the World Peace Day was held in the ancient city of Nafplio, co-organized by the Nafplio City Hall, the UNESCO regional organization and the Embassy of Georgia to the Hellenic Republic. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, H.E. Levan Beridze, together with the representatives of the Embassy attended the event.

In his speech the Georgian Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Director of the UNESCO regional organization, Ms. Mary Zilemenou and extended his thanks to the Nafplio City Hall for organizing the event. He focused on the huge importance of establishing peace in the world and enhancing peaceful cooperation between the countries. The long-standing friendship between the Georgian city of Poti and Nafplio and the strong cultural ties between the two countries were touched upon by the Ambassador Beridze in his remarks.

Georgian choreographic ensemble “Caucasus”, founded by Mr. Avtandil Mikaberidze, offered an impressive performance to the audience. Several local Greek media outlets delighted by the Georgian folk dances and polyphonic music wrote about the performance.

Another essential part of the event was dedicated to the 20th remembrance anniversary of the famous Georgian-Greek conductor, Odysseus Dimitriadis.
