The Minister of Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Ms. Eliso Bolkvadze paid an official visit to Greece
From June 27 to 30, the Minister of Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Ms. Eliso Bolkvadze, paid an official visit to Greece. The visit focused on deepening cooperation between Georgia and Greece in the field of Culture as well as exploring new opportunities and exchanging best practices in art and music sector.
During the visit, Minister Bolkvadze, together with the Ambassador of Georgia to the Hellenic Republic, H.E. Levan Beridze, held meetings with public and private sector representatives as well as the leading Greek cultural organizations.
During the meetings following topics were emphasized:
- Joint cultural projects and exhibitions;
- Youth exchange programs and education in Art;
- Organizing art camps in both Greece and Adjara region;
- Masterclasses and concerts featuring artists from both countries.
Meetings were held with:
- Vasilis Bokos, Secretary General of the Athens City Hall, where parties discussed future cooperation in cultural heritage and public engagement.
- Dr. Ghassan Khalil, representative of UNICEF Greece, where discussion focused on Art education and youth development initiatives;
- Mr. Dimitris Protopsaltou, General Director of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, where parties highlighted possibilities of hosting Georgian art exhibitions in Athens;
- Filippos Tsalahouris, Head of Musical department at the Athens Conservatory, where music exchange programs and masterclasses were touched upon in order to support young artists from both countries;
The Deputy Minister, Ms. Irma Abuladze and the Counsellor of the Embassy of Georgia, Mr. Varlam Badzagua attended the meetings as well.
