On July 8, in frames of the visit to Belgrade, the Ambassador of Georgia to Greece and Serbia Levan Beridze, met with the Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Serbia Jagoda Lazarević. The meeting focused on deepening of economic relations between the two countries, particularly in the field of high technologies, and emphasized the importance of enhancing regional cooperation.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the recently launched direct flights between Belgrade and Tbilisi. The decision to open a resident Embassy of Serbia in Georgia was highlighted as a significant step, underscoring the importance of these developments in the context of the 30th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Georgia and Serbia, and further strengthening the ties between the two friendly nations.
On the same day, Ambassador Beridze also met with Miloš Anđić, Chief of Staff and National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Serbia, and Aleksandra Nikolić, Senior Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister. The meeting covered current dynamics in Georgia-Serbia relations and the importance of expanding cooperation. The Serbian side expressed interest in participating in the upcoming “Silk Road Forum” to be held in Tbilisi. The sides also discussed Georgia’s participation in Expo 2027.
